The perfect complement. This casserole dish offers unparalleled functionality. The lid/griddle is perfect for eggs, sandwiches, or pancakes, for example, while the casserole dish is simultaneously perfect for cooking something else, like fish or meat in its own juices. And with the grill and rack inside the casserole dish, you can create a second level, perfect for side dishes. Cast iron is an excellent heat conductor, which helps with cooking by ensuring food browns and cooks evenly. It also makes food taste even better because its structure keeps it hot for longer. Stainless steel, on the other hand, is hygienic and durable.  Advantages of the SGS cast iron pot:  It has different functionalities, the lid becomes a griddle (reversible, one side smooth and the other wavy) and inside the pot we can use the grill as a second level. The recipes will stay hot on the table for longer thanks to the cast iron. Retains moisture: the lid fits perfectly to prevent juices from evaporating, enhance flavor and help food cook to perfection. Easy grip: The comfortable and stylish handles allow you to lift it safely. Avoid overheating: cook over a constant medium or low heat to protect the cast iron and enjoy delicious results. The cast iron casserole dish is made for the SGS system so it can be hung from it. The griddle only occupies half of the cooking surface, so you can prepare other dishes at the same time. The included grill fits inside the pot, where you'll find a stainless steel piece to create a second level. You can steam vegetables this way, for example. The lid has a dual function and can also be used separately as a baking tray. The lid has 2 sides; the grooved side is excellent for fish fillets or sandwiches, the smooth side for eggs or pancakes, for example.  What is the Smart Grid System?  The SGS is a unique system that allows not only direct and indirect cooking but also, thanks to its crescent design, the configuration of two different temperature zones. With the SGS with metal frame and detachable handle, it is also possible to lift the entire system (including 2 grills, 2 deflector stones and 2 grease collection trays) to remove it or insert it into the Monolith. Here we can see the details of the system and the ceramic deflector for indirect cooking in two pieces on the stainless steel structure that allows for different heights. Thanks to the two-piece, crescent-shaped design of the deflector, grease collection tray, and grill, two different temperature zones can be set up in the kamado for different cooking methods. The deflector stones further enhance the possibilities for both direct and indirect cooking. If you purchase a cast iron casserole dish, simply place it inside the SGS frame and hang it at the desired height. You will have previously decided whether you want direct or indirect heat by adding or removing the deflector stones. What is the difference between a cast iron grill and a stainless steel grill? Cast iron, due to its heat properties, gives an even more "caramelized" touch to the food in the areas where the strips come into contact with the food.   Features: High quality cast iron: 4 mm thick. Stainless steel insert in the tub to create a second level. It can be hung on Monolith's Smart Grid system for the Classic model. Multifunctional lid: lid and griddle with two sides, one smooth and the other grooved with relief to mark and offer an even more "caramelized" touch in the areas where the strips come into contact with the food. Dimensions (Ø/2 x H): Half the total diameter of the Classic cooking surface. 6,5L capacity. Bamboo wood handles for easier handling.
